The very people our society depends on for jobs, innovation, and growth are the ones getting the least assistance - entrepreneurs. As a result, there has become a structural problem with who becomes a startup founder. Lack of basic support for founders leads to lack of diversity in startups. We need to change this!
There is already a wealth of education and mentor groups out there for would-be business owners. But nobody is addressing basic needs.
If founders struggle with basic needs (housing, food, etc.) then it’s nearly impossible for them to become great entrepreneurs.
It’s never been a better time to be an entrepreneur, and yet, for certain groups it’s even more difficult to take the leap. High inflation, recession fears, and deteriorating savings are making it harder to cover basic living costs.

I see that folks from all types of communities are starting businesses -- typically out of necessity, as they are somehow excluded from upward mobility. Those businesses meet some basic needs but not all. The deeper problems, in my opinion, are the knowledge and opportunity gaps to scale those businesses.
