#DistributedFarming - there are numerous benefits of having micro urban distributed farming. Healthier produce, lower transportation costs, lower carbon footprint. I believe there is a need to create a distributed, low-cost system

Giving this some thought in context of my home country of India where the farm size of average Indian farmer is ~1 hectares and there are over 90-150 million farmers, one of the key issues yearly is the mismatch between demand and supply of produce causing the prices of produce to drop to 0 and skyrocket in the same year. The philosophy of the above mentioned network planning strategy could be implemented with maybe something like a reverse auction marketplace, providing grains ,storage and transportation infrastructure and analytical services , This would definitely benefit the farmers and consumers by stabilize/reduce the prices of produce , avoiding food wastage and reducing overall costs.
Now, that i think about this. I wonder why there isn’t network planning for farming is not a thing ?

Interesting. How does the math work in terms of acres needed to feed one person versus available land close enough to them? Does it require vertical farming?
