In our increasingly individualistic and decentralized world, we are missing the opportunity to gain true wisdom from older generations (especially those that have come to terms with their own mortality). This wisdom used to be handed down through multigenerational living situations/community and it not only allowed elders to feel valuable and find fulfillment in the end of their life, but also provided young people with an important perspective of how to live in a way that puts the truly important things first. this is such a missed opportunity and something that is relatively easy to fix.
In the bigger picture, there are also implications for how coming to terms with our planet’s mortality may also help us live more harmoniously. Thoughts?
There is an epidemic of loneliness, an aging population looking for meaning, young people looking for grounding and purpose, and technology that could make this happen.

I agree - this is a critical issue we are faced with today that needs to be addressed ASAP. It will have such a positive impact for all and it works: Blue zone communities come to mind. There are I believe 7 around the world - areas that have the greatest number of centenarians (people who live to be 100 years or older). A key ingredient in this recipe is their focus on multi-generational contact and connection. There are no senior homes or daycares, people come together to care for each other and the wisdom is learned and passed down in this beautiful ecosystem. .
