Industry/sector budget norms for startups

Suggested by Jeremy Burton over 4 years ago

There are many accounting systems but it's hard for startup founders, finance team members, and departmental team managers to know if their numbers are within norms for their sector/stage.

People want to be able to quickly answer questions like:

  • how does my R&D spend as a % of overall spend compare to other A-round stage B2B SaaS companies?
  • how does my CACD compare to other companies in the marketing automation category?

There are multiple sources of comp data for salaries, but not for key financial metrics like these. It would be great to be able to see where my startup sits for each metric, on a bell-curve.

alarm Why Now?

The downcycle will continue to put the spotlight on startup fundamentals and making sure we build startups with unit economics that work and scale.
