I’d love to see an Instagram alternative that functioned similar to the Instagram of old, where all of your followers would see yours posts, vs the algorithm showing it to 10% of your followers.
But charge business accounts a monthly fee to be on the platform. This could be a tiered structure based on follower count. There could also be lower priced influencer plans. This would take away the reliance on ad dollars for revenue and would offer a better experience for the users.
We grew our company completely organically on the old Instagram, and now we’re lucky to see 10% engagement. I’d happily pay $500 a month to IG for every follower to see our posts. It’s way more efficient than paying ad dollars in the post IOS 14 era.
Meta continues to have down quarters, with ad revenue being the main driver. Now is the time to provide a fresh alternative.
