I am currently working as a municipal appointee for the Mayor of Albuquerque to develop a new office dedicated to building pathways to action and power for residents in my community.

Prior to joining the city, I founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to building social capital and collective efficacy. Our most successful work was the development of a volunteer-led street newspaper, which was produced by the community to create opportunities for micro-entrepreneurship and add value to the traditional pan-handling interaction. This work was inspired by my desire to do good and support the most vulnerable people in my community and by my academic passion. In my study, I focused on political theory and non-market systems of social reciprocity. I care deeply about the wellbeing of people in my community but I strongly disagree with the unidirectional aspect of traditional service provision.

In addition to my public and nonprofit work, I am also heavily involved in web3. I am an enthusiast and I am an officer on the treasury committee for a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) building a decentralized exchange (DEX). If you are familiar with DEXs, you will be pleasantly surprised to see how this project handles trustless exchange. In addition to changing the workflow of AMM-style swaps, this project sidesteps the use of smart contract technology entirely by leveraging ledger-native services alongside a distributed node system and multi-signature thresholds for executing trades.
