Platform Studio is a fully remote venture studio dedicated to launching user-centered startups. At the Product Development & Iteration stage, we aim to prove product-market fit by developing, launching, testing, and iterating our MVPs. We focus on metrics-driven decisions to refine our products and drive growth.
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to be an extension of our team and help us as the needs arise on a contract basis. The Data Analyst will report directly to the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and play a critical role in tracking key performance metrics, providing actionable insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong analytical background and the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Tracking and Analysis: Set up tracking mechanisms to monitor UX research, product metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as activation rate, DAU/WAU/MAU, user retention, churn rate, etc. using any of the latest software (Heap, Maze, other).
Collaborate with Product and UXR Teams: Work closely with the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and user research teams to understand data requirements and deliver accurate and timely insights.
Dashboard and Report Creation: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize data and track progress. Ensure these tools are accessible and actionable for stakeholders.
Provide Insights for Iteration: Analyze user data to provide insights that guide product iterations and improvements. Help the team understand what is working and what is not.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Support the CPO in making data-driven decisions by providing clear and concise data analysis and recommendations.
Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support various business needs and product decisions.
Identify Trends and Opportunities: Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within the data to drive business growth and user engagement.
Ensure Data Accuracy: Perform regular data validation and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, preferably in a startup or tech environment.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Heap, Maze, Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights in a clear and concise manner.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced remote environment.
Knowledge of product development metrics and startup growth KPIs is a plus.

Competitive hourly rate, based on experience. Engagements will vary, typically ranging from 2 to 3 months each, with the potential for ongoing engagements as needs arise. This opportunity is great for someone with an existing roster of clients who is looking to supplement their main source of work.
