My goal is to change the world by addressing problems that are huge and right in front of us, but don't get addressed by the mainstream because they seem too hard or serve non majority communities.
I was raised in a small, poor town in Puerto Rico, and my father, who was a first generation high school/college graduate from a family of sharecroppers, achieved success in business and society, allowing us to have the privilege of a proper education. One thing he believed and acted upon throughout his life was that people didn't need handouts, they needed the opportunity to succeed. In our hometown, he bought land from his previous landlords, and offered private loans to every sharecropper. I saw with my own two eyes how providing people with the opportunity to own their future allowed all these people to create wealth for themselves and their families. Thanks to his actions, hundreds of people were able to feel safe in their own home, and have a safe place for their children to thrive, grow and find an education.
