In 2009, I was part of a startup team that raised seven figures from a major wireless carrier to fund a new company that pioneered the "bring-your-own-device" business model that is prevalent in the U.S. today. I facilitated the rollout in a network of 50K independent retailers across the country, created a sponsorship deal between a professional sports team and the startup, and gained TV coverage on ESPN that propelled the growth of the subscriber-base from 0 to 3M users in under three years, leading to a successful exit with an acquisition by América Móvil's TracFone brand for over $100M.
