A Canadian (Vancouverite) - Kim is active in the global startup community, participating in numerus investment panels and startup selections. She has a passion for working with disruptive/ entrepreneurial technology companies at the heart of scientific research, particularly around health, wellbeing longevity and climate. Her focus is on commercialising tech and driving policy towards ESG goals.
Kim is currently advising several family offices on their impact investment strategy and exploring setting up a health and climate tech fund.
Previously, as General Partner at Antler, an early stage venture capital firm, Kim led the capital raising process in Europe - onboarding key LPs. She was a member of the Antler leadership team, participating in investment and operational decision making. Here she brought her extensive start-up and VC network to underpin the successful launch of Antler Benelux in only 3 months – the fastest Antler location launch. She set up the Antler Benelux VC fund and studio from scratch – hiring key staff members and implementing best practice operational procedures. Her network contributed to the creation of the Antler Benelux investment committee and VC relationships for follow-on funding.
Kim supported the launch of a variety of new innovative companies through Antler's unique approach to start-up generation: founder and idea vetting, team formation and product/market fit. She was a member of the fund investment committee responsible for selecting 17 portfolio companies and was investment advisor for 3 healthtech companies.
Kim is a mentor at various technology accelerators and venture studios and has coached numerous start-ups (Digital Health and SmartEnergy) on capital raising, international expansion and formation of management teams.
Kim, through her company Innoviance, assists tech scale-ups in Europe with new strategy, growth capital raising, IPOs and business professionalisation. Here she brings over 15 years of expertise in international expansion and innovation to boost the local scaleup scene.
Formerly, as Director of KPMG in Transaction services, Kim assisted large corporates with M&A, acquisitions, IPOs and divestment's in a variety of industries throughout Europe and Asia. Here she also worked with Greenpeace and Doctors without Borders on operational improvements.
Kim is a curious lifelong learner who enjoys innovative scientific and technology breakthroughs, and creative and healthy pursuits such as running, climbing, dance, art and experiencing different cultures while traveling to developing countries.
