The international marketplace has damaged the local economy but there's still money in the market. Middle-class families will pay premium for a local product( ie a $10 carton of milk from a local farmer) but they want it delivered. Local farmers don't also deliver. Most local businesses run by Gen X and boomers don't leverage digital well.
Local creators don't really have the business knowledge to succeed. But what if we connect the two together? We help people's side hustles succeed in the local marketplace by focusing on only last-mile delivery.
People need a place to go. Companies need an infrastructure to make it possible.
There are a few startups trying the marketplace or the website as a service model. I don't think that is the route to go.
Over Covid19, more people are questioning where they find items. And now, if there's a 20-40% increase on imported goods. How much more can it cost to create it locally?
Also, the decrease in birthrate means an increase in disposable income for middle-class households. They care about the person behind and the ethics of the brand more than previous generations
