The electric vehicle revolution is well underway, with California banning the sale of new gas cars by 2035 and automakers increasing their lineup of EV offerings. Studies indicate that over 85% of EV charging happens at home, yet apartments and condominiums, also known as multifamily properties or multi unit dwelling sites, don't usually have this access-where roughly ¼ (80 million) of the U.S. population lives.
California currently has 38.71% of the total registered EV's in the U.S. (563,070) Roughly 90% of California’s chargers are located at homes overall, but as few as 18% are located at multi-unit dwellings (MUDs).
Nearly 50% of Californians live in MUDs, meaning the state urgently needs a solution to scale EV charging access to all residents. By 2030, 50 million EV’s will be in operation in the U.S.(9 Million in California)
