One of the biggest challenges of eCommerce stores and brick-and-mortar retailers of any size is to to sell their overstock fast and at fair prices.
Brands and retailers usually have underperformed SKUs or new items with damaged packaging, and they organize clearance sales or use liquidation services.
Clearance sales campaigns are promoted on the official website or inside the retail shop, but they depend on their current traffic. Usually they only reach a limited number of potential customers. Besides, an in-house clearance sale could damage the brand of the store.
Liquidation services usually pay between 5% and 10% of the average retail price, which is below the cost, and sellers don't have control of prices. Retailers need to ship their inventory to a warehouse and they can not sell directly to their customers, which increases costs and lowers recovery prices. Other liquidation alternatives are only available for large retailers.
There is not a specialized place to sell overstock or new items with damaged packaging of digital and small brick-and-mortar stores. They are currently ignored.
Now is the best moment to start, it's a huge market, there are millions of eCommerce and brick-and-mortar stores with excess of inventory problems and items with damaged packaging. We could help them get liquidity in better conditions than current alternatives.
