It will be difficult for anyone starting their career now. Job security is gone. People have to manage office politics, build networks, and more just to survive.

There is a need for a marketplace:

1. People seek and receive career guidance, be it a way to upskill themselves, get coaching/counselling, or get introductions/referrals.
2. Individuals could offer their service with different commercial models–for, e.g. I can help people with a career transition, get a promotion. Or I can help people get jobs and take an outcome-based success fee. It’s the reverse of headhunters on LinkedIn, who get paid from corporates.

1. Seasonal mass tech layoffs and periodic corporate layoffs. Things can get worse in a recession.
2. There is psychological impact of an uncertain job market for most career professionals. People are looking for support from experts.
3. There is a mixed bag of content on LinkedIn, though it used to be a go-to career app. I envision a niche place where every user is active, either sourcing or providing a career enhancement service.
4. HR recruitment processes are not well received by talented people. Getting a job through online applications scanned by bots is almost impossible, and everyone needs a network. But what about those without a great network?
