College students are unable to transfer their unused flex dollars to other students or to other universities. This creates a number of problems, including:
This lack of portability of flex dollars can be a financial hardship for students, especially those who are struggling to make ends meet. It can also make it difficult for students to build relationships with other students from different universities.
The Flex Dollars Portability Act of 2021 (H.R. 3149) is a bill that was introduced in the United States House of Representatives on May 20, 2021, by Representatives Robert C. Scott (D-VA) and Rodney Davis (R-IL)
If this bill passes it will pave the way for startups to build around.
