In 2020, 38.3 million people lived in food-insecure households. At the same time, food waste in the US is estimated at between 30-40 percent of the food supply. Startups in this theme focus on better distribution of existing food supply, better storage of food, and better forecasting and ordering systems of food, among other strategies to put meals in front of more people.
