Do Me A Favour Buddy: Evidence-Based Kindness Research
Proposed as a new solution to Volunteers needed: Lack of evidence-based approaches to improve community wellbeing through simple, accessible means
Do Me A Favour Buddy is conducting a university-validated 8-week research study exploring how personalised acts of kindness impact wellbeing, happiness, and sense of purpose.
Our approach bridges the gap between theoretical wellbeing research and practical implementation by:
- Gathering real-world data from diverse participants in their natural environments
- Testing personalised kindness interventions tailored to individual preferences and contexts
- Measuring concrete outcomes including mental wellbeing metrics, loneliness reduction, and life satisfaction
- Developing evidence-based frameworks that can be implemented in various community settings
What participation involves:
- Initial onboarding survey about personality traits and wellbeing
- 8-week programme with personalised kindness suggestions
- Brief daily activity tracking (10-15 minutes)
- Weekly check-ins (5-10 minutes each)
- Final feedback survey
- Optional follow-up assessments at 3, 6, and 12 months
The insights gained will inform the development of accessible tools that communities, organisations, and individuals can use to improve wellbeing through structured kindness practices.
We're currently seeking volunteers from diverse backgrounds to participate in this groundbreaking research. Applications close April 30th, 2025.
