Proposed as a new solution to Solve construction's 20% problem
There is a whole field of visual management that would be helpful here (see lean construction tools). However, the three that I have found most effective are: 1) daily huddles with foremen (the practice), 2) weekly work plan boards broken down by area that show what work each crew is doing each day (the visual plan), and 3) laminated floor plans to drawn on as needed for ANY discussion. When used well, these low tech solutions eliminate the majority of the waste due to poor communication, coordination, and accountability. Happy to discuss more.

Yes, I agree. This are all good practices to setup the work. However, once the work day, and/or week, starts.....even the best plans unravel in the rapidly changing job site. The constant change of the specialty trades (people, tools and materials/equipment) is hard to stay on top of, and keep in sight, by all stakeholders.
The "missing ingredient" is truly engaging the field worker as our "human sensor" on the who, what, where, why and how of the job site status.
This is what Built Data is about and does differently (as evidenced with our U.S. patent) than others in the industry.
This 20% problem will not be solved unless the root of the problem is solved: reducing the cognitive load on the field worker with a better mode of information and decision-making support that resonates with them.
Let's discuss.
I'll reach out to you.
