I was watching some folks play pickleball on a public tennis court yesterday and noticing the pain in their set-up and teardown. Since the public tennis court didn't have a pickleball net (though did have court taped out) the participants had to bring their own (theirs was probably $150). The pickleball nets I've seen are either portable (downsides: individual ownership required, travel and set up each play) or semi-permanent- heavy with wheels (downsides: risk of being stolen and/or doesn't allow for conversion to tennis play also).
I think there's an opportunity for a specific solution for a net that stays with the court, able to easily put up and taken down, doesn't obstruct tennis play and isn't vulnerable to theft. Not a software solution, but still an opportunity to bring pickleball to the masses on dual-use courts
